Necromancer (skeleton) kitbash... with lots of putty and multiple kits

I have always wanted a skeleton/undead faction to play in my games. I wanted something bespoke for the faction leader.

So, I made this necromancer out of several kits and using lots of putty.

My skeleton faction uses Wargames Altantic models, which are 28mm scale. I wanted the leader to be bigger and more imposing, so I used this Games Workshop skeleton as the base. This is 32mm scale.

Note: that is a 25mm Renedra base (the cheapest bases I can find).

I used a spear that came in the same Games Workshop sprue to make this staff+orb. The orb is a ball of Apoxie Sculpt and I wrapped a little bit of Green Stuff around it for interest's sake.

I made this tattered cloak by using some more Green Stuff. I did that by rolling the GS flat between baking paper and then adding it onto the model. I did the final shaping on the model itself, as below.

(Actually, the rising skeleton's torso is made from Apoxie Sculpt because I can't justify using a miniature for the base).

Then, painting. I achieved an OSL effect by:

Otherwise, painting used pretty standard miniature painting techniques. This kitbash has been pretty rewarding and I'm proud of it, which makes me want to play this army even more.
